Day 3: Sunday 27th Oct 2024 Sightseeing Tour/ Botanic Gardens, National Orchid Garden (B, L, D)

Enjoy a delicious breakfast this morning before heading out to explore Singapore on a half day city sights tour. Singapore, officially the Republic of Singapore, is an island country off the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Prior to independence in 1965, Singapore was a vibrant trading port. Observe the rich cultural and historical heritage through the sights and sounds of the bustling ethnic enclaves. Along the streets of China Town, Kampong Glam and Little India, religious monuments nestle amidst quaint shop houses. Contrasting with the modern shopping malls, such as the Suntec City, there are serene gardens and sleek skyscrapers. The statue of Singapore's founder, Sir Stamford Raffles proudly stands in front of the Victoria Theatre. Its replica stands at North Boat Quay - colloquially known as Raffles Landing Site, as this is the spot where Raffles is believed to have stepped ashore. Stop for lunch today at a local restaurant.  On the tour visit the Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden. The Botanic Garden is a 156-year-old tropical garden located at the fringe of the Singapore's main shopping belt. It is one of three gardens, and the only tropical garden, to be honoured as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Orchid Garden is located on the highest hill in the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Providing a place for 60,000 orchid plants - consisting of 1000 species and more than 2,000 hybrids - is the three hectares of carefully landscaped slopes.  This afternoon we’ll hop in one of the bumboats for a cruise along the Singapore River. These Hardy little vessels have been in use from the 1600s in Europe although the ones in Singapore have adapted design variations from the original European style lighters. Commonly know as twakows and tonkangs in Singapore, they were once extensively used for transport proposes along the Singapore River. Returning to the hotel later this afternoon, Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight at your hotel or a local restaurant.

Day 4: Monday 28th Oct 2024 Breakfast at the Zoo/High Tea (B, AT)

Breakfast is at the zoo this morning! Have you ever had breakfast with an orangutan? The Singapore Zoo is the only place in the world where you can have breakfast with not one but an entire family of orangutans! As you indulge in a hearty breakfast spread that includes international and local favourites, the orangutan family will make a spectacular entrance. Taking the ‘treeway’ from their free-range habitat next door, they’ll be ambling in one by one as a trunk drawbridge is lowered to let them through. It’s an amazing sight to behold! Some free time in the middle of the day today and lunch is own arrangements. This afternoon we visit the Landing Point at the Fullerton Bay Hotel (or Raffles) for High Tea. Sit back and enjoy the panoramic sweep of the waterfront whilst afternoon tea is served. If you prefer a cocktail the resident mixologist at the bar will be happy to help. Leaving the Fullerton this afternoon the coach will stop at Orchard Road where you have free time for shopping or be dropped back at your hotel. Dinner tonight is own arrangements. There’s a great selection of restaurants in Orchard Road. Malls make up most of the main street, but there’s plenty of other options hidden amongst the shops, from cheap and cheerful to some of the best fine-dining venues in Singapore.

Day 5: Tuesday 29th  Oct 2024 Singapore Flyers/Marina Bay Sands (B, D)

Enveloped safely in a capsule 165m above ground level, you will be treated to a visual 360˚ feast of iconic and historical landmarks such as Singapore River, Raffles Place, Merlion Park, and Empress Place.  Also, today we’ll visit Marina Bay Sands. Drink in the panoramic vistas of stunning Marina Bay, the world-class cityscape, the architectural wonders of Supertree Grove, and the vibrant colours of Gardens by the Bay. Sentosa is an island resort off Singapore’s southern coast, connected to the city by road, cable car, pedestrian boardwalk and monorail. By Sentosa Station, Tiger Sky Tower has panoramic views that can stretch as far as Indonesia. On the south coast, Palawan Beach is lined with food stalls and bars.  You can choose to return to the hotel or spend some more time in Sentosa today exploring the many attractions.  Dinner tonight will be at a local restaurant.
