Lakes Entrance, Batemans Bay & Merimbula Tour

Day 1: Monday 4th Nov ‘24         BATEMAN’S BAY      (L, D)

All Aboard! Today we begin our relaxing holiday to Batemans Bay. Set off traveling through Gundagai where we will be having a stop for lunch. Concluding lunch, we continue on through Bungendore and Braidwood till we reach Batemans Bay. For the next two nights our accommodation will be at the Araluen Motor Lodge, Batehaven.  

Day 2: Tuesday 5th Nov   BATEMANS BAY  -CLYDE RIVER CRUISE              (B,L,D)

After and hearty Breakfast we visit Mogo Zoo, enjoy morning tea and a talk with the keepers. While roaming around viewing the many animals Lions, Rhinos, Giraffes, Monkeys and Tigers. Then we enjoy a Lunch Cruise on the Clyde River.  Clyde River National Park is a secluded water sport playground near Batemans Bay, just waiting to be explored. With 9km of river frontage, steep forested hills, tree-lined foreshores with mangroves, and rare patches of saltmarsh, there are plenty of beautiful locations to discover. We then board the coach for a scenic drive stopping along the way at Mossy Point Lookout where we enjoy afternoon tea. We return to our motel to freshen up for dinner.

Day 3: Wednesday 6th Nov          BATEMANS BAY - MERIMBULA            (B,L,D)

This experience this morning will be tranquil and peaceful as we visit the stunning Rectory Gardens, All Saints Bodella. The Rectory Garden, All Saints Bodalla, is a private garden open to the public throughout the year. There are 12 unique gardens featuring approximately 1,000 plants and trees across the three acre property, adjacent to the historic All Saints Church. We then visit the Bodalla Dairy Shed and see where they pasteurise and bottle our Living Milk and make our renowned Bodalla Bush Tucker Cheeses.  Then we stop for lunch in Narooma beforeheading to The Bega Cheese Heritage Centre.  The Bega Cheese Heritage Centre is a great place to explore the world of Bega Cheese. The Heritage Centre offers visitors the chance to try our world famous cheese and to learn about the history of dairying and Bega Cheese in the Bega Valley. The Centre was built in 1993 and is a faithful reproduction of the original ‘creamery’ building constructed in 1899.  At the Centre you can sample and purchase a selection of Bega Cheese. We also sell a wide range of Australian cheese. We have a great range of souvenirs, farm-themed giftware, local jams & honey. We continue our journey to Merimbula as we visit the Merimbula  Aquarium & Wharf. Our 70,000 litre Oceanarium is a stand-out feature with our 28 tanks featuring local and tropical marine life of all kinds. Tonight we stay at Sapphire Waters, Merimbula.

Day 4: Thursday 7th Nov               CRUISE                (B,L,D)

We enjoy breakfast before taking a lovely Town Tour of Merimbula. We visit the Eden Killer Whale Museum. The Eden Killer Whale Museum preserves Eden's whaling, timber & fishing history - including the skeleton of 'Old Tom', a famous killer whale. We take in the beautiful scenery as we stop for morning tea. We enjoy a picnic lunch in the Alfred National Park before arriving in Lakes Entrance. We delight in a fun game of mini-golf before dinner in at our accommodation for the next Two Nights - Esplanade Resort & Spa, Lakes Entrance.

Day 5: Friday 8th Nov       RESIN CLASS - ECO CRUISE                   (B,L,D )

This morning we split into two groups and take part in two different activities and then alternate. One is The Saltwater Creative Co. – RESIN CLASS. Let your creative side shine as you create a lovely resin masterpiece to take home. You don’t need any skills! A wonderful way to interact with others and try something new. We also take a voyage of Discovery as we take a great casual Lonsdale Eco Cruise though the Gippsland Lakes with an expert commentary by the Captain, onboard the historic Lonsdale.

Day 5: Saturday 9th Nov                HOME              (B)

This morning we say goodbye to the beautiful seaside town of Lakes Entrance before making our way back home. We stop for lunch in Bright. We continue home stopping at Nightingale Apples in Wandiligong (time permitting) to see what’s in their store and maybe purchase a cheeky apple cider, before returning home after an enjoyable tour.
