1 Friday 4th November JERILDERIE COONABARABRAN (D)
Welcome aboard for our
relaxing tour of Coffs Harbour.
Today we travel to Jerilderie for our morning tea break. Continue through Narrandera to West
Wylong for lunch. Make our way to Forbes,
Parkes and on to Peak Hill for our afternoon tea stop. We continue along the Newell Highway through Dubbo,
Gilgandra and onto Coonabarabran,
which is the stargazing capital of Australia. We settle in for our Overnight Stay at the Country Garden
Motel Coonabarabran.
Day 2 Saturday 5th TAMWORTH
COFFS HARBOUR (B,D)
This morning after a
hearty breakfast we travel to Tamworth, the Country Music
Capital, see the Golden Guitar and enjoy our lunch break
here. Make our way to Armidale and along
the Waterfall Way to Dorrigo.
We travel past waterfalls through the most accessible National Park in
the world. We spend some time in Dorrigo with its many craft shops.
We visit the World Heritage listed National Park where
there is a fantastic Skywalk high above the rainforest. We make our way to Coffs Harbour.
We
settle in for the Next Four Nights at the Sanctuary
Resort Coffs Harbour.
Day 3 Sunday 6th
INTRO
TOUR COFFS HARBOUR BIG BANANA (B,D)
Today after a relaxing start we explore Coffs Harbour. Visit the Marina with its fishing
fleet, whale watching and recreational vessels moored in the safe harbour. We visit the Pet Porpoise pool, see the
amazing show, starring dolphins and sea lions followed by feeding of fairy
penguins and fish. After a stroll and lunch, we visit the Big Banana. We
enjoy the afternoon at leisure with time to relax before dinner.
Day 4
Monday 7th DOLPHIN CRUISE FREE AFTERNOON (B,D)
Today we enjoy a
relaxing morning on board the "Pacific Explorer for a Whale Watching
Cruise, enjoy the commentary as we cruise
past the spectacular Coffs Harbour coastline.
Visit Carobana Factory, production of carob, chocolate, honeycomb and
brittle confectionery products
and a little tasting! Enjoy the rest of the
afternoon to relax at the resort or soak up the friendly atmosphere of
this beautiful coastal town. Dinner
tonight is at the Resort.
Day 5
Tuesday 8th GRAFTON
JACARANDA FESTIVAL (B,D)
This morning we follow the Pacific Highway north to Grafton the Commercial
Centre of the Clarence Valley. Grafton is a beautiful place, justified with its
gardens, fine colonial buildings and broad avenues lined with Jacaranda trees,
set on the banks of the Clarence River. We meet bush poet Bill Kearns for an informative tour of the town and maybe a humorous
poem or two. We celebrate the purple blooms with the Jacaranda Festival and join in with the festivities with so much to
see and do (the 2022 Itinerary is yet to be finalised at the time of this
publication). We make our way back to Coffs Harbour in time to freshen up for
our Dinner at the Resort.
This morning we
farewell our hosts as we make our way to Nambucca Heads with magnificent
views along the way. We continue to Kempsey
and visit the Slim Dusty Centre which
is a major
cultural tourism attraction, celebrating the life of Australian Icon, Slim Dusty. We then travel to Port Macquarie for our lunch break. We
then visit the RAAF Fighter world Williamtown
for a guided tour around the base with its unique display of fighter aircraft,
then continue onto Nelson Bay for
our overnight stay at the Marina Resort.
DAY 7 Thursday 9th
NELSON BAY GOULBURN (B,D)
After breakfast we travel to Newcastle and enjoy a tour which is Australia's oldest sea port, currently the
second most important in the country in terms of overall tonnage. It is also
the world's largest coal exporter. We then travel the Central Coast passing through Grafton
and around the outskirts of Sydney before
arriving at the Rooty Hill RSL for lunch.
We continue down the Hume Highway to Goulburn
where we do a comprehensive tour of this historic town. Tonight, we enjoy our
stay at the Goulburn Heritage Motel.
DAY 8 Friday 10th GOULBURN - HOME (B)
We join the Hume Highway
this morning and make our way to Gundagai
for our morning tea break at the Information centre where we view the Rusconis Marble Masterpiece which is a unique
cathedral-in-miniature. We continue along the Hume Highway to Holbrook
where we have lunch. We then make our way to Albury after a relaxed and enlightening tour of Coffs Harbour and Grafton.
